New Version Confusing

When trying to add a new connection on, it just goes to the website. It did not used to do that. There are no instructions about what needs to be done. It says to go back to the Apple store to download the app, but it is already installed. Perhaps I am missing something, but it wasn’t like this previous to the upgrade.
